From Bharat to Tashkent – A Rider’s 10,000 km Mission of Unity and Awareness

When passion meets purpose, and a journey turns into a movement, stories like Trans-Asia Trail 2025 are born. Covering nearly 10,000 kilometers across six nations, biker and social crusader Prasad Chaulkar has just returned to India after completing one of the most ambitious international motorcycle expeditions of the year — “Bharat to Tashkent – On the Wheels of Unity.”
Traversing India, Nepal, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, Chaulkar’s journey wasn’t just fueled by petrol, but by a mission: to promote road safety, emergency medical preparedness, and international unity through action, awareness, and outreach.
A native of Murud-Janjira in Maharashtra’s Raigad district, Chaulkar is no stranger to extreme challenges. A national-level karate champion, award-winning adventurer, and recipient of the prestigious Raigad Bhushan award, he has previously led the massive “Azadi Ki Amrit Parikrama” — a 25,000-km ride supported by India Tourism.
This latest Trans-Asia Trail, however, was different.
“It was more than a ride,” says Chaulkar. “It was a dialogue — with geography, with people, and with purpose.”
Riding along the ancient Silk Route, he endured sub-zero mountains, scorching deserts, sandstorms, snowstorms, and complex border crossings. Yet, the most memorable moments weren’t just geographical — they were emotional.
“At Tashkent, I paid tribute to former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri,” Chaulkar shares. “That solemn moment, shared with Dr. Khikmat Anvarov, a leading emergency medicine expert from Uzbekistan, marked the official closure of the expedition.”
But the road to Tashkent was paved with more than just grit — it was laced with kindness. Across countries, Chaulkar was met with warm hospitality — from strangers offering tea on mountain passes to heartfelt conversations with locals in small towns.
“In China, I sang with senior citizens at a public square. They didn’t know the language, but they connected with the emotion. That’s the power of music — and of humanity.”
The expedition, carried out under the mentorship of renowned emergency medicine leader Dr. Sagar Galwankar (USA), received backing from several international institutions:
WHOCCET – AIIMS New Delhi
WACEM (World Academic Congress of Emergency Medicine)
INDUSEM (Indo-US EM Collaboration)
ACEE (Academic College of Emergency Experts)
EMA (Emergency Medicine Association)
With Ultimate Holidays providing critical route planning supportThis was no luxury travel. “Motorcycle expeditions are raw,” says Chaulkar. “There’s no AC, no heater, no buffer. You feel every degree of the temperature, every shift in terrain. It teaches you survival, humility, and respect.”
Chaulkar, now back in India, intends to present his experience at WACEM 2025, to be held in Mangaluru. “This journey is not ending,” he says. “It’s just beginning — as a story, as a campaign, and as a message.”
With a helmet full of memories and a heart full of purpose, Prasad Chaulkar’s Wheels of Unity may have stopped rolling for now — but the road he’s paved will continue to inspire
