1.Pick a great chair and adjust it right

You probably spend half of your time in the office at your desk chair. Thus, choose a chair to support your spine. Make sure you can adjust the chair to your height so that you can place your feet on the ground. To support your back, you can also use a cushion. Ask your boss if it can be replaced with a newer one if you are not comfortable with your present office chair. Do not forget to include that this will decrease your back pain and will increase your productivity as a result. If you are unable to get clearance, consider ordering your own office chair.

2.Set your monitor appropriately

Your computer monitor should immediately be at your eye level. Try raising the level of your monitor by placing a stand or some thick books underneath it. If your computer monitor is below your eye level, you need to continue bending your neck and shoulders. This will cause neck and back pains in the future. On the other hand, if your display is above your eye level, you constantly need to look up and this puts excessive pressure in your neck.

3.Modify the illumination

An office needs to have plenty of windows to let natural sunlight in. If you can't have natural daylight in your office, at least use a brighter lamp, since it is much better than fluorescent lighting. It is important to position the lamp overhead. A desk lamp can, in addition to that, also be used for darker days.

4.Reduce eye strain by taking breaks

You need to be vigilant about shielding your eyes if you have to work more than 3-4 hours a day on a monitor. Try to blink sometimes and look every half-an-hour away from your computer. Stand up and take a coffee break, talk to a coworker and ease your body posture, if possible. At least search elsewhere for a minimum of 20 seconds if you are really busy.
