From Radio Waves to Reels: How Paran Thakur Built a Voice Coaching Venture Rooted in Real Experience

Early Years on the Mic

For over two decades, Paran Thakur lived behind the microphone. His journey began as a radio jockey with AIR FM and later saw him on popular stations like Fever 104 FM and Radio Mirchi. He also spent six years working with radio stations in the UAE, sharpening his craft and learning the power of voice in storytelling, persuasion, and connection.

Radio was not just a job. It was his identity. Speaking, performing, and engaging audiences came naturally to him. But like many professionals who spend years in one field, the transition to a new phase of life required both courage and reinvention.

About eight years ago, Paran shifted from being a radio presenter to a full-time voice over artist. The work was fulfilling and creatively satisfying. For a long time, it remained his only source of income.

The Moment That Changed Everything

The real shift happened in 2023, during his son Vir’s summer break from college in Seattle. In a casual conversation that would later become a defining moment, Vir pointed out that his father’s talent deserved a larger stage.

He suggested Instagram.

Paran was hesitant. Like many first-time creators, he battled self-doubt and discomfort. Watching oneself on camera can feel awkward, especially after years of being heard but not seen. But father and son decided to try.

Vir handled filming, editing, music, and captions. Paran showed up, spoke, and experimented.

They began posting reels on August 15, 2023.

What started with about 700 followers slowly gained traction. By January 26, 2026, the account had crossed 200,000 followers. The growth was entirely organic, built on authenticity, consistency, and skill.

When Strangers Became Students

As Paran’s online presence grew, something unexpected happened. People began reaching out, asking if he taught voiceover skills.

He did not set out to become a coach. But demand often creates direction.

That curiosity led to online workshops and webinars, eventually evolving into a structured 30-day intensive program called Voiceover Takeoff. The program guided participants through selecting their first microphone, setting up a home studio, improving performance, and learning the technical side of recording and editing.

The goal was simple. Help them build a demo reel, the calling card in the voiceover industry.

The results came quickly.

One of the earliest students, Rita Negi, posted her demo on Fiverr and received her first paid order within 24 hours. Another learner, K Sushant Rao, began landing regular voiceover gigs. For both, voiceover became a meaningful side income stream.

These early wins validated the approach. Paran continued refining the program, batch after batch, learning alongside his students.

Discovering a Bigger Opportunity

A turning point came when fitness coach and influencer Chirag Bharjatya reached out. He had built strong traction on X but felt his Instagram content was not connecting.

The issue was not visuals or strategy. It was voice delivery.

Paran worked with him on cadence, pace, pitch, tonality, and pausing. Within two weeks, Chirag saw a spike of 10,000 followers.

This experience opened a new door. Paran began exploring the broader field of speaking voice coaching. He studied global coaches, tested frameworks, and prepared for a shift from teaching voiceover as a skill to shaping voice as a leadership tool.

He realised that one-to-one personalised coaching created the deepest transformation.

Building Paravox Consulting

That insight led to the creation of Paravox Consulting and its flagship offering, Million Dollar Voice Protocol. Launched in 2025, the program focuses on helping founders, CXOs, creators, experts, and performers develop a voice that communicates confidence, authority, and influence.

The work goes beyond technique. It is about presence, clarity, and authenticity.

The venture grew without paid advertising. Every lead came through organic reach and referrals. A free 30-minute voice strategy call became the entry point, bringing in serious and motivated clients.

Over time, Paran was no longer a one-person operation. An executive assistant joined first. Later, his son Vir stepped in as a co-founder. What started as an experiment at home turned into a growing father-son venture.

Understanding the Market Without Chasing It

Paran never began with a business plan or market gap analysis. He built by responding to real experiences.

Challenges were constant. Cash flow pressures in the early days, packed calendars at one stage and empty ones at another, low conversion rates, renewals, and lead quality. Each phase demanded adjustments.

One major insight was positioning. Moving from low-ticket offerings to premium coaching changed both business dynamics and client commitment.

The shift was influenced by a simple idea he came across while reading Alex Hormozi: solve problems for people who value the solution deeply.

Voice became the niche.

In a world where visual presentation is becoming accessible to everyone, Paran believes vocal identity is emerging as a key differentiator.

What Sets the Work Apart

Paravox Consulting focuses on continuous improvement rather than differentiation for its own sake.

The guiding questions remain simple:

  • How can clients see faster results?
  • How can transformations last longer?
  • How can the experience be more personalised?

Million Dollar Voice Protocol remains the core offering. Alongside it, the team is building a client community and preparing for offline events and retreats planned for 2026.

The long-term goal is to build systems and scale through trained voice coaches and specialised closers, allowing Paran to focus on coaching and content creation.

A Mindset Shift That Changed the Trajectory

Every founder experiences moments that redefine direction. For Paran, it was the decision to move from accessible mass programs to premium one-to-one coaching.

It required confidence, repositioning, and clarity about the value being delivered.

That shift created stability and opened the door to deeper work with clients.

Entrepreneurship, as he sees it, is not about escaping challenges. It is about moving from one challenge to the next with resilience.

The Road Ahead

Over the next five years, Paran wants Paravox Consulting to become a predictable and process-driven business that does not depend entirely on his presence.

He envisions a strong team of coaches, structured systems, and a growing community.

On a personal level, he plans to document his learnings and eventually write a book. He also wants to step into offline training and speaking, helping live audiences understand and improve their vocal impact.

His long-term vision remains simple. Continue helping people discover their voice and express it with clarity.

Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Paran keeps his advice grounded in experience.

Entrepreneurship demands patience and endurance. The journey often lasts longer than expected, and the path is rarely clear. There will be phases where progress feels invisible.

The key is to keep moving.

Stay strong. Stay patient. Outwork your doubts.

And most importantly, focus on who you become through the process. The growth within often matters more than the outcomes outside.
