Why Octech Digital Bet on Infrastructure, Not Activations, to Win the Consumer Engagement Market

Octech Digital Co-Founder & CEO Raghvendra Singh on repositioning consumer promotions and loyalty as a reusable technology layer, and why that decision changed the nature of client conversations the company has.

Why Octech Digital Bet on Infrastructure, Not Activations, to Win the Consumer Engagement Market

Consumer engagement has never suffered from a shortage of creative ideas. What it's lacked, according to Octech Digital Co-Founder & CEO Raghvendra Singh, is a reliable technology foundation strong enough to support them at scale, which is precisely the gap Octech was built to close.

Identifying a Structural, Not Creative, Problem

Raghvendra'sread on the consumer promotions market, formed over years working closely with agencies and brands in MarTech, was that execution, not ideation, was the industry's real bottleneck. A single campaign could depend on one system for participation, another for validation, a separate reward partner, and disconnected reporting, with manual verification stitching the pieces together. At national scale, those breakpoints became operationally unmanageable: delays, inconsistent data, and limited visibility were common outcomes even for creatively strong campaigns.

“We believed the industry did not need another isolated campaign solution,” Singh says. “It needed a dependable, consolidated platform that could bring promotions, gamification, loyalty, rewards, data, and analytics together in one place.” That thesis, refined through repeated conversations with his co-founders, Praveen Reddy and Kundan Bharadwaj, became Octech Digital.

Positioning: Engagement Infrastructure, Not Campaign Execution

Octech's core strategic choice was to build an enterprise-grade engagement platform rather than operate as a campaign execution vendor. The company's offerings span consumer promotions, gamified campaigns, loyalty and rewards programmes, cashback and coupon journeys, product validation, and data-led engagement, serving brands across FMCG, alcobev, pharma, retail, QSR, banking, and FinTech through a single integrated system rather than a collection of disconnected tools.

Key product pillars include Promo Genie (campaign execution, promotions and rewards infrastructure), Analytics Genie (campaign intelligence and behavioral insights), and Playverra, Octech's hyper-casual gaming platform, which extends the same engagement thesis into a library of 25+ branded games designed to create repeatable play-earn-redeem loops. Singh frames the combination as a shift from a linear “see → buy → forget” model to a cyclical “participate → play → engage → learn → optimise” one.

Balancing Speed With Reliability

A central operational challenge for Octech was reconciling brands' need to launch campaigns quickly with the reality that fraud control, brand safety, and consumer experience can't be compromised for speed. Raghvendra's team addressed this by designing modular technology components that could be adapted to different campaign requirements without rebuilding the underlying solution each time, a structural choice that let Octech move fast on individual campaigns while maintaining platform-level quality and control.

The Leadership Team

That balance is reflected in how the leadership team divides the work, with strategy, technology, and delivery each led by a dedicated senior partner:

Praveen Reddy, VP and Co-Founder, is a strategic leader focused on driving business growth and building high-performing teams. He specialises in strategic planning and operations, with strong expertise in product development, market expansion, and organisational leadership. Known for his focus on innovation and customer-centric growth, he delivers impactful, results-driven solutions.

Kundan Bharadwaj, CTO and Co-Founder, is a technology leader with a passion for building scalable systems and engineering high-performing teams. He specialises in technical strategy and architecture, with strong expertise in product engineering, system design, and technology innovation. Known for his focus on clean architecture and reliable performance, he delivers robust, customer-centric solutions.

Jebby Matthew Rajan, Managing Partner, leads solution strategy, commercial planning, and delivery at Octech Digital. Across interactive campaigns, enterprise platforms, games, and AI-powered experiences, he helps brands take an ambitious idea through to a shipped product, managing scope, sign-off, and delivery along the way. His guiding view is that technology earns its place only when it solves a real problem, creates an experience worth remembering, and shows up in the business's bottom line.

The Inflection Point: From Vendor to Infrastructure Partner

Singh identifies a clear before-and-after in how clients engage with Octech. Early relationships centered on individual campaign execution, “can you help us execute this campaign?” Following successful delivery of high-volume, data-led promotion programmes for established brands, that question shifted to “how can we build the next engagement programme with you?” That change in framing, Singh says, reflected a deeper trust in Octech's platform and validated the company's belief that brands needed a long-term technology foundation rather than one-off campaign support, prompting deeper investment in modular platform capabilities, gamification mechanics, first-party data, and fraud control.

Strategic Outlook

Raghvendra's five-year vision positions Octech as a leading consumer-engagement technology partner for brands in India and beyond, with continued platform investment across promotions, loyalty, rewards, gamification, and first-party data, moving brands from one-time campaign activations toward an always-on, measurable relationship with consumers. Geographic expansion will prioritize deepening India presence while selectively exploring high-growth international markets.

His advice for founders identifying similar infrastructure gaps: “Begin with a real problem, not just a good idea,” and prioritize finding co-founders who share your values but bring complementary skills, “the best decisions often come from honest discussions, healthy disagreement, and a shared commitment to the larger vision.”
