Mahima Sogani: Breaking Boundaries with Music and Storytelling If you’ve ever wondered what happens when music, comedy, and poetry share the same stage — meet Mahima Sogani, a Jaipur-born artist who is rewriting the rules of performance.

Mahima is the creator of India’s first one-woman musical storytelling show, “Shuru Se Shuru Karein?”
— a genre-bending act that toured across India and the UK last year, leaving audiences laughing, crying, and singing along. And now, the songs born from that show are taking on a new life.
On 28th August, Mahima released her first track, Haapus ke Aam, on YouTube — the opening chapter of a full music album. The song is playful on the surface, but carries a simple, striking idea at its core: our hearts are like mangoes — sometimes raw and sharp like a kairi, sometimes sweet and ripe — but always worth savouring.
This is what makes Mahima’s work stand out. It’s not just music — it’s music with thought, wit, and soul.
Her journey blends Rajasthan’s rich folk sensibilities with the polish of her voice training in London, and the energy of Mumbai’s live scene. It’s a rare balance — global in outlook, yet rooted in her Indian identity.
Beyond her music, Mahima has been seen on screen in Inside Edge, High, and Bamini & Boys, and acted in Dhoka: Around the Corner alongside R. Madhavan. She has voiced global campaigns, trained countless performers as a top vocal coach, and is now focused on building her identity as a musician first.
For Mahima, the next chapter is clear: Haapus ke Aam is just the beginning. Over the next few months, all eight songs from her debut album will be released, each with its own story and flavor. And this November, she kicks off Part 2 of her musical storytelling tour, promising new stories, new songs, and more boundary-breaking performances.
