Delhi-based Leena AI, which offers an artificial intelligence (AI)-backed platform for human resource management, said it has raised $8 million in a Series A round of funding.

Venture capital firm Greycroft led the round, with individual participation from its chairman Alan Patricof, Cornerstone OnDemand founder Adam Miller and Jim Moffatt, the former chairman/CEO of Deloitte Consulting, according to a statement.

“Leena AI is uniquely positioned to empower mid-market and enterprise companies to transform their employee's digital experience, driving huge efficiencies, while maximizing employee engagement,” Moffatt said.

The deal will also see Mark Terbeek, a partner at Greycroft, joining Leena AI's board.

With this funding, Leena AI said it will deploy the capital to expand its go-to-market programs and accelerate product development which would enable the world’s top enterprises to modernize slow legacy internal helpdesk systems and elevate the experience of their employees.

Founded in 2016 by Adit Jain, Mayank Goyal, and Anand Prajapati, Leena AI’s employee experience solutions are driven by its conversational AI platform. It is an autonomous tool that handles certain, repetitive HR-related queries in real-time, including tasks like answering policy questions, knowledge management, generating employee documents on demand, and managing employee tickets.

“Legacy internal helpdesks are simply not meeting the needs of the world’s top enterprises. They are not user friendly, are tough to deploy, and lack intelligence. Leena AI Service Delivery suite changes that - bringing the consumer experience to enterprise employees,” Jain said, noting that their platform strives to become “Siri for enterprise employees.”

Currently, Leena AI is used by over 3,00,000 employees worldwide, of which 1,50,000 have been onboarded in the last nine months.

The company claims to have over 100 enterprise customers, including some popular industry names Lafarge Holcim, Nestle, Abbott, Coca-Cola, AirAsia, Vodafone, Sony Pictures, Tata Technologies, and OnePlus. Its revenue has also risen by 350% during this period, the statement added.
