Empowering Futures Through Football
India Khelo Football Launches ‘Field of Dreams’ Campaign to Uplift Youth Through Sport and Life Skills

Location — In a groundbreaking effort to bridge the gap between sport and social development, India Khelo Football (IKF) has announced the launch of its new national initiative—the Field of Dreams Campaign—under its flagship IKF Career 360 program.
This campaign aims to nurture football talent among under-resourced youth while also preparing them for life beyond the game. The program promotes holistic development, encompassing football training, life skills, literacy, mental wellness, and medical care.
More Than Just a Game
The Field of Dreams campaign positions itself as a catalyst for both athletic and personal growth. By creating a 360-degree ecosystem, IKF is setting out to build a generation of well-rounded individuals who can thrive both on the pitch and in life.
“We’re not just building players—we’re building people,” said IKF spokesperson Nirja Shekhawat. “Field of Dreams is about shaping leaders who can make a difference in their communities.”
The campaign integrates life coaching, academic support, leadership training, and even emotional intelligence sessions to prepare youth to face real-world challenges.
Programs Tailored to Every Aspiration
To meet the diverse needs of young players across different backgrounds, the Field of Dreams Campaign is structured around five specialized sub-projects.
Future Champions focuses on overall player development combined with essential life skills, targeting children of all age groups. Books & Boots caters specifically to students in 11th and 12th grade, blending football training with academic literacy to ensure educational growth alongside athletic progress. Heal To Play addresses the medical and rehabilitation needs of injured athletes, helping them recover physically and mentally to return to the field stronger. Artist That Kicks emphasizes life skills and extracurricular engagement, encouraging all-round development beyond football. Lastly, Maidaan Ki Rani is a girl-focused program dedicated to empowering young female players through structured coaching and life skills training, promoting gender equity in sports. Each of these projects is supported by trained coaches, educators, medical professionals, and mentors, ensuring every child receives personalized support to grow both as a player and as a person.
A Call for Support: Help Create Future Leaders
IKF is calling upon corporates, donors, NGOs, and individuals to contribute to this mission and help transform the lives of young athletes. Support can be extended in the following ways:
- Adopt a Player: Fund an individual child’s complete development path.
- Adopt a Program: Sponsor an entire sub-initiative like Maidaan Ki Rani or Heal To Play to reach a broader group.
“All it takes is one act of support to set a young person on the path to greatness,” said Mr. Phani Bhushan, Director, IKF. “This is about giving every child a fair chance to dream—and to achieve.”
Whether you're a philanthropist, sports enthusiast, corporate CSR head, or someone who simply believes in equal opportunity, your contribution can spark meaningful change.
