Shouradeep understood via his own experience that quality learning content was not available to every student of his batch due to many reasons or it can be both logistical and economical. On searching various ed-tech platforms, he was stunned on seeing that none provided quality resources for the niche community of 22.4 million non-technical undergraduate students. He shared his thought process with his childhood friend Upamanyu, who was working on a startup at that time and thought to work and collaborate for forming an executable model around this problem focusing on the various aspects and stakeholders needed in forming a system. In order to validate their idea Upamanyu reached out to his college friend, Fazal and Together they all conducted market surveys and interacted with a variety of stakeholders like students and professors understanding the huge demand for such a product and eventually coming up with the perfect product concept. The rest of the tech framework was added to this concept, focusing on the user journey and user experience by Fazal and others, with the collected sources they finally created their prototype of Collegeshala. The team of Collegeshala has received support from one of their professors Mr. Jayendra Singh, few friends, and also from their incubation mentors Mr. Aaquib Hussain and Suraj Juneja at Freeflow.
Currently, there is a dearth of proper ed-tech platforms catering to the 22.4M non-technical undergraduate students assisting them in their college studies. These students often do not have access to quality learning material due to economical as well as logistical connectivity issues. The internet may be crammed with free resources but there is no access to credible content by verified faculties mapped to the student's university syllabus. Collegeshala solves this problem by providing opportunities to learn from universities professors mapped to the students learning and exam pattern. Students can clear their doubts anytime with the professors; attend live classes and access upskilling courses to enhance their skills and knowledge at a very minimal cost.

He has more than 2 years of experience in growth at Australia based travel social networking startup. He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Collegeshala.
Mohamed Fazal Mustafa, B-tech 3rd year undergraduate student from Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata. The tech geek of the group, Fazal has extensive experience in tech development, data science, and AI working with startups. He loves ideating and building products and has more than 1.5 years of working experience at LWT and BuffNow. He is fulfilling his responsibilities as a Chief Business Officer for Collegeshala.
Upamanyu Chatterjee is a B-tech 3rd-year undergraduate student from Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata he is a hustler and his interests lie in marketing, sales, finance & strategy. He has 2 years of startup experience, having previously co-founded a revenue-making startup that focuses on commercializing patented green technology and having experienced a round of fundraising with his experience and responsibility he is serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Collegeshala.
Till now Collegeshala is being operated in three states West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand. In the next 12 months, Collegeshala aims to expand to at least 10 states along with plans for international expansion in South East Asia and Europe. Learning content in regional languages along with interactive live learning and insights-based learning assistance is on the cards as well as focusing aim to become the face of the nontechnical undergraduate community giving it learning assistance and upskilling opportunities.
